Chicago Sightseeing - Be sure to see as much as you can of this fantastic city of Chicago. There will be so many things to choose from so we made some suggestions for you and they’re listed below. Always be safe while you’re making your way around the city Chicago and be sure to have a camera to take some pictures for your memories. It’s a good idea to wear comfortable shoes while you’re sight seeing as there can be a lot of walking involved. The best plan is to set out a sightseeing schedule for a few days - you don’t have to keep to it but it will mean that you’ll fit in quite a lot during your visit.

Be sure to visit the Sears Tower, one of the tallest buildings in the world. If you are into shopping take some time to shop at some of the Magnificent Mile’s 500 shops and then catch a bite to eat there too to get your breath back.

Magnificent Mile

One whole mile of shopping is waiting for you at the Magnificent Mile and it is truly magnificent. If you’re into shopping you’ll enjoy this and it will be a great outing. Be sure to go and spend lots of money. One of the most famous shopping strips in the world it has almost 500 different shops - so give it a go and see how many you can visit.

Sears Tower Skydeck

Take your camera and climb to the top of the Sears Tower Skydeck for an awesome view of the city of Chicago from the 103rd floor! This tower is 1,450 feet high and one of the tallest in the world. Around it you’ll see the the Amoco Building at 1,136 feet and the John Hancock building which is 1,127 feet. Truly you can see for miles from the Sears Tower and it is worth picking a clear day for this sightseeing outing.

Be sure to make time to see the Buckingham Fountain. It is one of the largest fountains in the world and at night is illuminated with the colours changing all the time.

Water Tower Place

At Water Tower Place you’ll enjoy another great shopping experience. The Water Tower dates from 1869 and was one of the view structures to survive the Great Fire. It now has an excellent Visitors Centre and is a historic landmark. It is about 154 ft high built of large limestone blocks and it dwarfed by the skyscrapers around it.

A Taste of Chicago is an annual festival. So if you’re in Chicago during its time, during the beginning of July it is a must do.

Brookfield Zoo

What’s a trip to Chicago without seeing the zoo. There are 2,000 animals in this zoo and it proves to be a great afternoon on fun. Even if you don’t have kids travelling with you, a visit to the zoo means a break away from the hustle and bustle of sightseeing and shopping.
